New Year’s Baby 2018: It’s a Girl!

News Ukiah-CA- Ukiah’s first baby born in 2018 was determined to make her grand entrance into the world on New Year’s Day. After three days of labor, Cecile Macias and Timothy Macias II, welcomed their first daughter into the world, Savannah Macias. Savannah was born at 2:22 a.m., at Adventist Health Ukiah Valley (AHUV), with a beautiful head of brown hair, weighing in at 7lbs and 11 ounces.

There is something about a new life beginning at the start of a new year that brings great excitement. From parents and extended family members to nurses and doctors the anticipation builds as one year ends and the New Year begins. The event calls for celebration. AHUV’s Obstetrics Department takes part in the celebration by gifting the family with their first case of diapers, adding up to over 200 diapers and a basket filled with new born necessities.

Around 386,000 babies are born worldwide on New Year’s Day. However, the first baby of the year (at any given hospital) always receives extra attention, but all of that aside, Cecile and Timothy were most happy to have welcomed a healthy baby girl, and as all parents do, they hope for a long future of happiness and health for their daughter.
