Improving Patient Experience

Community Needs

HANFORD – Services at Adventist Health Medical Office – Hanford, on Douty Street, are being adjusted to improve patients’ ease and convenience.

The facility (former Central Valley General Hospital) provides a variety of services, including women’s health, family medicine, same-day appointments, lab draws and more. In 2016, team members welcomed over 100,000 patients from throughout the region. To make for a better patient experience, services are now as follows:

The Medical Office’s Women’s Health Services, which were once offered in the lower level of the facility, will relocate to the Harris Building on 1025 N. Douty St. This move will enhance women’s health services provided in conjunction with Valley Children’s Healthcare, which currently has four maternal-fetal medicine specialists caring for patients with high-risk pregnancies. Other providers who will care for patients at this office include Physician Assistant Martha Suarez, Nurse Practitioner Mary Severson and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife Tamara Sharma.

Services in the lower level of Medical Office – Hanford will cater solely to pediatric patients and will be offered by Drs. Giridhar Andhavarapu, Marifi Cabaluna, Isam Dafdony and Niazi Sidhom.

The First Floor will continue to house Behavioral Health and Same-Day Appointment services, as well as a referral center. The front lobby will have a greeter available Monday through Friday, 12 hours a day.

The Second Floor will house Primary Care and Complex Chronic Care, which cares for patients with chronic health conditions.

The Third Floor now will house all specialty services, including neurology and nephrology, which means Hanford Specialty on Harris Street will no longer exist. That space will be occupied by Hanford Women’s Health.

“The ultimate goal of these changes is to offer patients the convenience of a one-stop-shop,” says Jessica Rodriguez, rural health administrative director for Adventist Health Central Valley Network. “By consolidating services, we can communicate our centralized services more effectively and provide a better patient experience.”

X-ray and lab services will continue to be offered.
