Awards & Recognition

HANFORD – For the second year in a row, Healthgrades has recognized Adventist Health Hanford and Selma medical centers among the top 10 percent in the nation for Joint Replacement, as measured by performance.

Healthgrades is the leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals. Every year, the organization evaluates hospital performance at nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide for 34 of the most common inpatient procedures and conditions.

The achievement is among several announced in Healthgrades’ 2018 Report to the Nation. Adventist Health Hanford and Selma also were recognized for 5-Star hospital care in the following three categories:

  • Total Hip Replacement
  • Total Knee Replacement
  • Treatment of Heart Attack

“Our goal is to provide excellence with each and every visit,” says Andrea Kofl, president of Adventist Health in the Central Valley. “We are honored to have received such an award for the second year in a row and only hope to improve in the years to come.”

Speaking to the hospital’s newest award for heart attack treatment, Dr. Frank Gavini, Chief Medical Officer and Board-certified cardiologist, says this was an area he was excited to see improve. “We went from three stars to five stars in heart attack treatment, which shows our teams are continually looking for opportunities to improve patient care.”
