St. Helena Hospital Announces New Chief Medical Officer

Employee News St. Helena, CA —Tim Lyons, M.D., has been appointed Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for St. Helena Hospital. As CMO, Dr. Lyons will play an integral role in developing and executing strategy, while working with other physician leaders in the Adventist Health network to develop and influence programs that advance health in the community.

His capabilities to see the big picture combined with his desire to make an impact in our community and beyond make him the perfect candidate to help our executive team expand our mission.” 

Dr. Lyons is an anesthesia-intensivist with board certification in anesthesiology, critical care and echocardiography and serves as Co-Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at St. Helena Hospital. He graduated from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and completed his residency in anesthesiology at University Hospitals of Cleveland, Case Western Reserve University, where he also completed a fellowship in critical care. Tim completed a fellowship in cardio-thoracic anesthesiology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He has served as assistant-professor of anesthesiology, co-chief of the cardiothoracic intensive care unit and Chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology at University Hospitals of Cleveland. Dr. Lyons served as Chief of Staff for St. Helena Hospital from 2015-2017. He and his wife, Susan Dix Lyons, have three children, Cole, a sophomore at Babson College in Wellesley, MA, Lucas, a freshman at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR, and Ruby, an 8th grader at Pacific Union College Elementary in Angwin, CA.
