Adventist Health Portland and Northwest Cardiovascular Institute Cardiologists Sign Letter of Intent to Partner

Partnership

Adventist Health Portland and Northwest Cardiovascular Institute (NWCI) have signed a non-binding letter of intent to partner, making Northwest Regional Heart and Vascular a fully integrated cardiac service line. The agreement is expected to be finalized later this summer.

This partnership will help Adventist Health Portland expand its mission by providing high-quality cardiac care for more patients in even more communities. Increased collaboration between hospital-based cardiac care and the physician group will streamline care for patients.

Adventist Health Portland and NWCI have been intricately linked for the last 25 years. Together, Adventist Health and NWCI developed a regional cardiovascular program with services on the Oregon coast and in southeast Washington. That relationship has reached a point where both organizations want to join under shared leadership to further expand the program and continue improving the heart health of our communities.

When due diligence is completed by both organizations, and the agreement is finalized later this summer, the six NWCI cardiologists currently practicing on the Adventist Health campus, and four additional NWCI cardiologists, will join Adventist Health as employed providers. The agreement will add an additional Adventist Health Northwest Regional Heart and Vascular clinic serving McMinnville, Ore., and surrounding communities.
