St. Helena Hospital Unveils a New Name and Mission

Event St. Helena, Calif.— St. Helena Hospital Napa Valley (SHNV) has been an integral part of Napa Valley, providing faith-based whole-person care since its inception as Deer Park Sanitarium in 1878. On March 20 & 21st, St. Helena Hospital unveiled a new brand direction, including an expanded mission, vision and values and identity to their employees and volunteers during a series of brand launch celebrations.

With this change Adventist Health will become even more community centric, with greater emphasis focused on health and wellness. The events inspired many in attendance, reminding them of the value Adventist Health holds in our community. “I found the event to be incredibly inspiring and informative. It is great to see the organization move in a direction towards being even more embedded in the community. I feel grateful to work for such a mission-focused organization,” said Linda Williams, Service Line Marketing Manager.

“Our new mission statement, Living God’s love by inspiring health, wholeness and hope, broadens our focus from solely caring for the sick to helping communities be healthier. It reflects our heritage of providing physical, mental, and spiritual care and compels us to break down the walls of a traditional health system and extend our reach more deeply into the community,” comments Dr. Steven Herber, President & CEO, St. Helena Hospital Napa Valley.

The launch also focused on the importance of “systemness” across its 21 sites and 275 clinics. Leveraging shared tools and resources across all of its facilities frees up local sites so they can utilize their resources on meeting the health and wellness needs of the community.

As part of the new brand direction, St. Helena Hospital introduced a new name. Once California Department of Public Health (CDPH) approvals are obtained, St. Helena Hospital will be known as Adventist Health St. Helena. This new name will align with its twenty-one Adventist Health hospitals on the west coast, spanning from Oregon, Washington, California and Oahu.

Adventist Health, SHNV's parent company, has supported the hospital and Napa County for decades. Their support has provided the resources and tools needed to stay at the forefront of new advances in medicine.

Herber added, “In addition to our expanded mission and new name, we are introducing a new visual identity that represents the spirituality and fresh optimism of our organization. Our tagline - “Together inspired”- speaks to our working together with other community organizations throughout Napa County to move our neighbors toward a healthier life.”

“It’s exciting for us to share with our community that we’re a part of something bigger and we are declaring our intention to be a part of the community more than ever before,” commented Herber. “As Adventist Health St. Helena, our goal will be to inspire health, wholeness and hope throughout the communities we serve.”
