Long-time Pediatrician and Staff Join Adventist Health in Dinuba

Physicians, 2017

DINUBA – Dr. Khusal Mehta – a respected pediatrician in Dinuba -- is known among the community as loving, playful and caring, which is why Adventist Health is pleased to have him and his staff join its network.

Dr. Mehta, his office staff and certified physician assistant (PA) Jack Tieche, who’s served at Dr. Mehta’s private practice since 1994, began caring for patients on July 26 at the Adventist Health medical office at 1451 E. El Monte Way in Dinuba.

“After 36 years of caring for children at my private practice, I felt it was time to partner with an organization that is well-rounded, local and could offer my patients a variety of specialties and services, such as free transportation to their appointments,” says Dr. Mehta. “I found all of those qualities in Adventist Health.”

Dr. Mehta grew up in western India. He graduated from Medical College Sholapur in Maharastra, India, and completed internships at Lokmanya Tilak Hospital in Bombay, India and Mercer Hospital in Trenton, New Jersey; and a pediatric residency at Fordham Misericordia in New York.

He’s been married for 45 years to Veena, who’s served as his office manager. The couple has two adult children, one of whom is an intensivist. Dr. Mehta also has four grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, bicycling and playing tennis. He’s fluent in English and Hindi.

Jack Tieche, who grew up in Fresno, is a life-long Valley resident. His father was an OB-GYN who loved his job, which made Tieche want to pursue a medical career. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Child Development from University of California at Davis, where he also graduated from the nurse practitioner and physician assistant program. He later earned a Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Fresno.

“The reason I chose to become a pediatric physician assistant was so that I could nurture children back to health,” says Tieche. He has four children of his own and a wife of nearly 30 years. In his free time, he enjoys coaching Babe Ruth League baseball, playing basketball, golfing and cycling.

Tieche also likes to draw popular cartoon characters and give to his young patients to color. He also has a love for creating Christmas cards, which he’s been doing since he was 20.

Adventist Health will remodel Dr. Mehta’s office at 430 N. Vermont Ave., and offer sleep services at the location. The sleep center is expected to be open in early 2018.
