Adventist Medical Center is Among Top 5% of Hospitals in Clinical Outcomes in Nation According to Healthgrades

Awards & Recognition

Adventist Medical Center has received the Healthgrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence for the fourth consecutive year. This distinction recognizes Adventist Medical Center in Portland, Ore., as among the top five percent of more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide for its clinical performance as measured by Healthgrades, an online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals.

“As a mission-inspired, performance-driven organization, every provider and every team member is part of our commitment to provide the best and safest care. Our mission compels us to serve our community with the highest level of care and service. Receiving this level of recognition once again demonstrates our commitment to excellence,” says David Russell, president and CEO of Adventist Medical Center.

Adventist Medical Center was named among the top two percent in the nation for spine surgery and critical care by Healthgrades in 2016, in addition to being among the best for overall clinical excellence.

From 2013 through 2015, patients treated in hospitals receiving Healthgrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence had, on average, a 26.2% lower risk of dying, than if they were treated in hospitals that did not achieve this distinction. DHACE hospitals showed superior performance in clinical outcomes for patients in the Medicare population across at least 21 of 32 of the most common inpatient conditions and procedures —as measured by objective clinical outcomes performance data (risk-adjusted mortality and in-hospital complications).
