Rideout Health Opens The Family Birthing Center

Marysville, April 26, 2017 – On May 1, 2017 Rideout Health will open floors 4 and 5, The Family Birthing Center at the Rideout Regional Medical Center expansion to serve our patients.

The move of inpatients to the new Family Birthing Center will begin on May 1, 2017 at 7 a.m. The inpatient move is scheduled to be completed by the afternoon depending on when discharges leave and if there were any patients laboring who could not move to Rideout prior to delivery.

Fremont Medical Center will remain fully operational until the last patient is transferred. After all patients are moved from Fremont Medical Center, the facility will be closed.

About the Family Birthing Center:

Rideout dedicates two floors to the celebration of new life with our new Family Birthing Center, Well Baby Nursery & Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Expectant mothers will be taken care of by a compassionate team of dedicated and knowledgeable experts – skilled physicians, experienced maternity nurses and other members of the health care team.

During labor, mothers will be accommodated on the firth floor in a spacious private suite with large windows and comfortable sleeping and seating accommodations. The fifth floor also offers two C-section rooms, an ante-partum testing unit and triage.

Following delivery, mothers and babies move to the fourth floor where they enjoy private suites until they are ready to go home. Each suite has its own private bathroom and shower and is large enough to accommodate a bassinet as well as family members. A Well Baby Nursery and six-bed Neonatal ICU designed to treat our tiniest patients is also located on the fourth floor.
