Adventist Health Earns Gold for Workplace Wellness!

CENTRAL VALLEY – Adventist Health / Central Valley Network has been recognized as one of the nation’s healthiest companies in 2016 by the Wellness Councils of America’s (WELCOA’s).

WELCOA -- one of the nation’s most-respected resources for building high-performing, healthy workplaces –awarded the Central Valley Network with the Gold Well Workplace award for developing comprehensive programs that are producing results for its employees.

To earn gold, organizations must meet WELCOA’s seven benchmarks, which include:

  • Capturing CEO support
  • Creating cohesive wellness teams
  • Collecting data to drive health efforts
  • Carefully crafting an operating plan
  • Choosing appropriate interventions
  • Creating a supportive environment
  • Carefully evaluating outcomes

“We have an exceptional team that is solely dedicated to creating wellness programs for our nearly 3,000 employees and their families,” says Andrea Kofl, Central Valley Network president. “To be recognized as an organization that is doing great things to promote healthy living is truly rewarding.”

Some of the programs that helped the Central Valley Network earn Gold were centered on weight management, nutrition, physical activity and mental and spiritual well-being.

By achieving this designation, the Central Valley Network has been recognized by the Wellness Council of America as one of the nation’s healthiest companies in 2016. The Central Valley Network is a nonprofit, faith-based organization operating more than 60 sites in Kings, Fresno, Tulare, Kern and Madera counties. It owns and operates hospitals in Hanford, Selma and Reedley and has nearly 40 rural health clinics, as well as outpatient centers.
