In an effort to expand health care to rural communities in the south, Adventist Health / Community Care has opened a new clinic in Wasco. Joining the network’s Community Care family is Elizabeth Alomari, family nurse practitioner, and five staff members.

Alomari has cared for patients in the area for nine years, so she’s thrilled to continue the relationships she’s worked so hard to build over the years.

“The people are amazing,” she says. “It’s a very family-oriented environment. When they visit us, we treat them like they’re at home.”

Alomari was born in Delano, which is about 20 miles north of Wasco. She became interested in the medical field in high school, while shadowing staff at an obstetrics clinic. She says she was impressed by the work being performed by a nurse anesthetist. Determined to become a nurse herself, Alomari attended California State University, Bakersfield and earned a Bachelor of Science. She wanted to do more to help families, so she went back to CSU Bakersfield, where she earned a Master of Science and graduated from the nurse practitioner program.

Alomari speaks English and Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and traveling.

She may be reached at Community Care – Wasco, 1040 7th St., with a phone number of (661) 758-7801.
