Roger Talob, PA-C, Returns to Adventist Health / Community Care - Lemoore

Physicians

Certified physician assistant Roger Talob is once again caring for patients at Adventist Health / Community Care – Lemoore.

Talob has been practicing medicine for nearly 20 years; eight of those years were spent at Adventist Health, where he cared for patients at the Home Garden clinic and at Adventist Medical Center – Hanford, offering orthopedic services.

The San Diego native decided he wanted to become a physician assistant after joining the U.S. Navy.

“I was a hospital corpsman, teaching interns microbiology, when a Navy doctor told me I should go to medical school,” he says.

Talob attended George Washington University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. He then went on to earn his Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, Orthopedic Surgery.

“I decided to study orthopedic surgery because when I was on the U.S.S. Independence, an anesthesiologist fell and broke his elbow. No one knew he broke his elbow, but when I walked up to the X-ray, I spotted a fracture and was told I should consider this specialty,” he says.

Talob completed his orthopedic surgical residency with University of Nebraska while he was stationed at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan. He retired from the U.S. Navy in August 2008.

He says he enjoys the small-town feel of Lemoore, where he lives with his wife, who is a music teacher at Lemoore High School. They’ve been married for 28 years and have two adult sons.

In his free time, Talob enjoys playing guitar and bass, traveling and spending time with his family.
