“Dinner With a Doc” Open to Public

Sonora Regional Medical Center’s Hospice of the Sierra will hold “Dinner With a Doc,” a benefit dinner on Saturday, March 5, at 5:30 p.m. at Black Oak Casino Resort Hotel, featuring guest chef, local emergency room physician Blake Cleveland. All proceeds from the dinner will benefit Hospice patients who cannot afford their services.

The event is chaired by former Sonora Regional Medical Center Civic Advisory Board member Jan Anderson, who, along with committee members, has been busy gathering donations for the gift-box raffle and silent auction.

Gail Witzlsteiner, Executive Director of the Medical Center’s Foundation said, “This event has become so popular, it fills up fast. It should be another fun-filled evening with great food and time spent with friends and supporters of our program. We are grateful for the continued support of a generous community who sustains our charitable mission and to Dr. Cleveland for serving as our guest chef.”

Sponsors of this year’s Dinner With a Doc are Adventist Health, Sierra Emergency Medical Group, Black Oak Casino Resort, and Roger and Judy Haughton.

Hospice of the Sierra treats the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients who are no longer receiving curative treatment, by providing support and comfort care in their homes or home-like settings. Hospice works with a team of health-care professionals, volunteers and the patient’s family to help the patient make the most of the time they have.

Dinner With a Doc tickets are available for $60 per person and are limited to the first 200 guests. Call Sonora Regional Medical Center’s Foundation Office at 536-5029 to purchase a ticket or for more information.
