Call to Artists for Annual Art for the Heart Showcase

News

Adventist Health is sponsoring a community art show, “Art for the Heart” Feb. 1-28, to raise awareness about heart health in Tillamook County. This will be the third anniversary of the show, celebrating Tillamook County artists of all ages and their work.

  • The call to artists/creatives is to exhibit original heart-themed works of art which will be on display for the month of February in the gallery at the North County Recreation District (NCRD).
  • We’re looking for hang-ready works in all media, limit 3 pieces. We reserve the right to choose only one piece as space allows. NCRD art gallery does not have space for 3D works of art; however, we may be able to exhibit 3D works at the artist’s reception by prior arrangement.
  • Art will be hung on Feb. 1, and taken down on Feb 28. We must have your artwork on or before Feb. 1 at 1 p.m.
  • Artists may sell their work for 80 percent of the sale price with 20 percent going to NCRD to help fund fitness scholarships.
  • Please contact Mary Faith Bell and Justin Mock if you have artwork that you’d like to exhibit: maryfaith.bell@ah.org and justin.mock@ah.org. Please email both addresses. You may deliver your artwork to NCRD on Feb. 1 between noon and 1 p.m. or you may deliver it to the hospital the last week in January by arrangement.
  • The Art for the Heart community celebration and artist reception will be on Sunday, Feb. 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. at NCRD with refreshments and live music.

Regarding the heart theme, please use creative license: Here are a few suggested prompts:

  • What speaks to your heart?
