Adventist Health Home Care Receives High Ratings in Patient Care and Experience

Awards & Recognition

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently introduced the first Patient Experience of Care star ratings on Home Health Compare. Known as HHCAHPS, these star ratings measure and evaluate patients’ experiences with home health agencies. This is in addition to Quality of Patient Care star ratings for each agency. The quality star ratings summarize home health agencies’ performance on nine quality measures that indicate how well they assist their patients in regaining or maintaining important functional abilities and how frequently they adhere to evidence-based processes of care.

For Quality of Patient Care, Home Care Services – Bakersfield received a 5-star rating designation. Home Care & Hospice Services – Glendale received a 4.5-star rating. Home Care Services – Lake County and Home Care Services – Napa Valley both received a 4-star rating.

For Patient Experience of Care, Home Care Services – Simi Valley and Home Care & Hospice Services – Tillamook both received a 5-star rating designation. Home Care & Hospice Services – Mendocino County, Home Care Services – Lake County and Lodi Memorial Home Health each received a 4-star rating.

“Our focus is on moving the dial higher for each agency. It takes a lot of work and focus to achieve a 4 or 5-star rating.” said Sherry Mendoza, President of Home Care Services. “We congratulate each of our teams who have achieved these high standards.”
