Walk-In Flu Shots Available At Adventist Health Community Pharmacy

Clinics

Flu season is just around the corner which means that it’s time to get your annual vaccination to protect yourself, your family, and our community from the flu.

Flu shots are available in the Shot Spot at the Adventist Health Community Pharmacy on a walk-in basis from 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and on Fridays from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. The Adventist Health Community Pharmacy is located at 1111 S. Second Ave. in Walla Walla.

Adventist Health Community Pharmacy will also be hosting a Flu Shot Clinic on Sunday, Sept. 27 during Walla Walla Police Department’s Prescription Take Back & Shred event days from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at Walla Walla General Hospital.

The FluMist (nasal spray) is $40, and the regular trivalent immunization (three strains) and quadrivalent (four strains) are $30. The high dose vaccine for those ages 65 and up is $45. The pharmacy can bill insurance for patients who have coverage for immunizations.

Most of the 2015–2016 vaccine supply will protect against three or four different strains of influenza as usual, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Yearly flu vaccination is recommended for everyone age six months and older. It is especially important for young kids; pregnant women; people 65 and older; caregivers; and people with medical conditions, like asthma, diabetes, heart disease, and neurological conditions.

The Community Pharmacy also carries other vaccines including: Whooping Cough/Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis), TD (tetanus and diphtheria), Zostavax (shingles), Hepatitis A and B, meningococcal, pneumonia, HPV (Gardasil), and MMR (measles, mumps and rubella).
