Hospice Volunteer Training

Sonora Regional Medical Center’s Hospice of the Sierra is looking for volunteers in Tuolumne and Calaveras counties and is offering orientation and training for those who are interested in becoming a hospice volunteer. The orientation session will occur on April 9, 2015, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Hospice of the Sierra’s Sonora office located at 20100 Cedar Road North.

At the orientation session, volunteers will explore the opportunities available to give back to the community through various programs including supporting people in their grief journey in Sierra Grief support groups, providing clerical support, and working with families to provide respite and emotional support.

“Our volunteers are an important part of the hospice team,” says Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Shauna Burrow. “They can find gratifying work with patients and families who are going through a difficult time in their lives.”

For more information and to register for the orientation and training, please call Shauna Burrow at (209)-536-5687.
