Hospice Benefit “Dinner With a Doc” Open to Public

Philanthropy Sonora Regional Medical Center’s Hospice of the Sierra will hold “Dinner With a Doc,” a benefit dinner on Saturday, February 7th at 5:30 p.m. at Black Oak Casino Resort Hotel, featuring guest chef, local physician and Chief of Staff, Dr. Brenda Forrest. All proceeds from the dinner will benefit Hospice patients who cannot afford their services.

The event is chaired by Hospice Advisory Board member June Diggle who has been busy with the gift box raffle and beautiful, homey decorations.

“This event has become so popular, we are pleased to need to move it to a larger venue,” stated Gail Witzlsteiner, Executive Director of the Medical Center’s Foundation. “It should be another fun-filled evening with great food and time spent with friends and supporters of our program. We are grateful for the continued support of a generous community who sustains our charitable mission and to Dr. Forrest for serving as our guest chef.”

Hospice of the Sierra treats the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients who are no longer receiving curative treatment, by providing support and comfort care in their homes or home-like settings. Hospice works with a team of health-care professionals, volunteers and the patient’s family to help the patient make the most of the time they have.

Dinner With a Doc tickets are available for $50 per person and are limited to the first 200 guests. Call Sonora Regional Medical Center’s Foundation Office at 536-5029 to purchase a ticket or for more information.
