Adventist Medical Center - Hanford Ranks Among Top 10%

Awards & Recognition

HANFORD – Joint replacement care at Adventist Medical Center - Hanford ranks among the top 10% in the nation, according to Healthgrades, the leading online resource helping consumers make informed decisions about health care. The ranking earns the hospital a Healthgrades Excellence Award for Joint Replacement for 2015.

Every year, Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance at over 4,500 hospitals nationwide for 33 of the most common inpatient procedures and conditions. The organization then ranks hospitals at one to five stars based on their patients’ outcomes in those areas.

“Our excellent team has made our Hanford hospital a destination for joint replacement procedures” says Wayne Ferch, president and CEO of Adventist Health / Central Valley Network. “Now that we’ve started our Joint Replacement Center, our care and services are improving even more.”

One patient said her life has improved drastically since she had surgery on both knees at AMC - Hanford. “I have lost 60 pounds since my knee surgeries and I can now bicycle ride up to six to seven-miles a day,” says Martha Heavrin. “They took good care of me. I was very pleased.”

In addition to the Excellence Award, AMC - Hanford earned five-star ratings in hip fracture treatment and total knee replacement, indicating that its clinical outcomes are better than expected in those procedures.

Other Healthgrades five-star ratings also apply to Adventist Medical Center – Selma, which shares a license with AMC - Hanford. The hospitals earned five stars in these areas:

  • Defibrillator Procedures
  • Colorectal Surgeries
  • Esophageal/Stomach Surgeries
  • Hip Fracture Treatment
  • Total Knee Replacement
