Fight Against Cancer: You're Not Alone

Cancer

HANFORD – A support group is being offered by Adventist Health / Breast Care Center for patients dealing with all types of cancer to let them know they’re not alone.

“Knowledge is power in helping people through their journey with cancer,” says Laurie Schirling, RN and nurse navigator at the Breast Care Center. “By providing emotional, spiritual and social support, we’re letting them know there are others going through the same thing.”

The support group will offer education on the types of resources available in the community, including from the American Cancer Society. Attendees will also hear from different speakers and learn ways to reduce stress.

Two one-hour sessions will be held at Adventist Medical Center – Hanford, 115 Mall Dr. in Hanford on Feb. 17, one at 11:30 a.m. and another at 5:30 p.m. If you or someone you know is interested in attending either session, sign up by calling Laurie Schirling at (559) 537-2304 or emailing Laurie.Schirling@ah.org.
