Walla Walla General Hospital Nationally Recognized For Quality and Patient Satisfaction

Awards & Recognition

Walla Walla General Hospital/Adventist Health has been recognized by national leading quality rating organizations for exceeding the criteria and standards of performance for quality outcomes and patient satisfaction.

“This level of recognition does not happen by accident,” says Monty Knittel, President and CEO at WWGH. “It is through our intentional, hard work, and dedication to quality standards that serve as a testament to the care provided in our hospital. It is our priority goal to ensure the highest quality of care possible is provided throughout our patients stay and treatment.”

The four national awards and recognition WWGH received are:

  • Healthgrades 5-Star Rating for Heart Attack, 2014–2016: For the third year in a row, WWGH has received a 5-star rating in heart attack care from Healthgrades. This achievement demonstrates exceeding national averages for statistically better-than-expected patient outcomes.
  • Women’s Choice Award® – America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics, 2015: Organizations are measured against the needs and preferences of women for treatment and quality patient care and satisfaction. Recipients of this award are ranked in the top 15 percent of eligible hospitals from reported performance outcomes.
  • American Heart Association Mission: Lifeline® – Silver Referring Quality Achievement Award, 2015: For closing the gap that separates STEMI patients from timely access to appropriate treatment. This includes prompt diagnosis and transfer to hospitals which provide artery-opening procedures as needed. WWGH received the Bronze Referring award in 2014.
  • Collaborative Alliance for Nursing Outcomes – Performance Excellence in Preventing Injury Falls and Hospital Acquired Pressure Ulcers (HAPU Stage II+), 2014–2015: Demonstrates a long and consistent track record of commitment to safe patient care by nursing staff. Through consistent processes, monitoring and measuring of nursing-specific quality measures, hospitals in the CALNOC registry seek to deliver the highest standard of care in the communities they serve.
