All over the country, emergency rooms are seeing more and more patients. Portland is no different and in fact the Adventist Medical Center ER has seen an 11 percent increase in patient visits just in the last 18 months.

Our staff knew we needed a plan to ensure we could see more patients and still give you the best care as quickly as possible. The solution came through an innovative program that moves triage-the initial assessment of your condition when you arrive at the Emergency Department-right into the lobby. This change in process has already decreased the amount of time it takes our patients see a provider. We've also been able to get our patients on their way home sooner thanks to this innovative process.
