Physician Discusses Ways to Treat Lower Back Pain

HANFORD – Low back pain is the single leading cause of disability worldwide, according to the Global Burden of Disease 2010. It’s one of the most common reasons for missed work and the second most common reason for visits to the doctor’s office.

Dr. Michael Brook, from Adventist Health / Spine and Pain Center in Hanford, will speak to the community about signs and symptoms of common low back pain and treatment. Dr. Brook is board-certified in pain medicine and anesthesiology. He studied at University of Michigan, earned his medical degree from University of Maryland and completed an internship at Washington Hospital Center and residency at University of Miami and Stanford University. Before coming to Adventist Health, Dr. Brook was caring for patients at Stanford University. He has 27 years of medical experience.
