"I Care for Children as I Would My Own"

DINUBA/REEDLEY – As a child, Christy Nance-Chastain would help out at her mother’s daycare, picking up toys, cleaning and interacting with children. Her passion for working with children led her to become a pediatric nurse practitioner (PNP).

Nance-Chastain, a mother of three, cares for young patients at Adventist Health / Community Care – Dinuba West and Reedley Jefferson.

“I care for children as I would my own kids,” she says. “Being a mom, I know what parents are going to experience, which is why I get them involved in their child’s care so they can have a positive outcome when they return home.”

Nance-Chastain earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in nursing from California State University, Fresno. She’s a nationally board-certified PNP through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

She has more than 14 years of experience in health care. She was a registered nurse at Valley Children’s Healthcare for nine years, and a PNP at a health clinic in Dinuba for five years, where she offered primary care and treatment and management of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Growing up just outside of Dinuba, Nance-Chastain takes pride in her community and the people, which is why she became a board member for “Dawnings.” The faith-based organization in Dinuba offers pregnancy resources to high school students, such as abstinence education, pregnancy care and parenting education and helps them find jobs so they may be successful in life. Nance-Chastain has enjoyed serving the community through this organization for three years now.

She also enjoys spending time with her husband -- a fire captain in Dinuba -- and her three children.

Nance-Chastain may be reached at AHCC – Dinuba West, 250 W. El Monte Way, with an office number of 559-595-9890 and AHCC – Reedley Jefferson, 1150 E. Washington, with a phone number of 559-638-2154.
