Frank R. Howard Memorial Hospital Experiences Unforeseen Delay in Construction Progress

CA – “The construction of the new Frank R. Howard Memorial Hospital (HMH) has experienced a delay,” said President and Chief Executive Officer of Frank R. Howard Memorial Hospital, Rick Bockmann, in a statement issued on Wednesday, September 3, 2014. “I am disappointed that due to a construction delay, we have to postpone the opening of the new hospital,” continued Bockmann, “Our new anticipated opening date is scheduled for spring of 2015.”

The administrative team at HMH is working diligently with HBE, the lead design-build firm contracted on the new hospital building project to update the current timeline. Bockmann also wanted to point out that Adventist Health and Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL) remain dedicated to the Willits community, “Adventist Health’s commitment to provide best in class health care in the Willits community is evident with building of the new hospital and the project management provided by JLL.”

“The advanced technology in this building is substantial,” said Amy Ford, senior project manager for JLL and HMH. “When you combine the complexity of the building, with the rigorous inspection process and oversight from state inspectors for hospitals, schedules can be delayed. It is worth the extra time investment to insure the standards we strive for are met to ensure quality health care for our community. As a result of this delay, we are confident that the hospital we open in spring will be the world class facility that Willits deserves.”

“As we move forward we will share an updated timeline once it becomes available,” concluded Bockmann.
