Walk-In Flu Shots Available at Adventist Health Community Pharmacy

Clinics

Flu season is almost here and it’s time to get vaccinated to protect yourself, your family, and our community from the flu.

Flu shots are available in the Shot Spot at the Adventist Health Community Pharmacy on a walk-in basis from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Adventist Health Community Pharmacy is located at 111 S. Second Ave. in Walla Walla.

Most of the 2014-2015 vaccine supply will protect against three different strains of influenza as usual, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But some vaccines will guard against four flu strains.

Yearly flu vaccination is recommended for everyone age six months and older. It’s especially important for young kids; pregnant women; people 65 and older; caregivers; and people with medical conditions, like asthma, diabetes, heart disease, and neurological conditions.

The FluMist (nasal spray) is $35 and the regular shot is $30. The pharmacy can also bill insurance for patients who have coverage for immunizations.

The Community Pharmacy also carries other vaccines including: Whooping Cough/T-Dap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis), TD (tetanus and diphtheria), Zostavax (shingles), Hepatitis A and B, meningococcal, pneumonia, HPV (Gardasil), and MMR (measles, mumps and rubella).
