New Family Medicine Physician in Reedley

REEDLEY – Board-certified family medicine physician Dr. Luis Guzman is caring for patients at 1419 N. Acacia Ave. in Suite 101 on the Adventist Medical Center – Reedley campus.

“I’m caring and understanding, but I’m also firm in the goal for patients to learn and take control of their medical conditions with the treatment and education I provide for them,” says Dr. Guzman. “I give my patients the tools they need to be healthy through a close doctor-patient partnership.”

“My parents taught me to be compassionate,” he says. “They instilled in me and my siblings the importance of giving back to the community.”

Dr. Guzman was born in New York, but grew up in the Bay Area. He lived in Bolivia for several years because his parents wanted to expose him to the culture. While in Bolivia, Dr. Guzman attended medical school at Universidad Nuestra Señora De La Paz. He then returned to the United States to complete his residency at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Guzman completed his residency training in family medicine in 2012. Most recently, he was at Kaiser Permanente in Kern County.

“I like the population in the Central Valley,” he says. “The people are friendly and hard-working. I’m excited to become a part of this community and provide medical care and health education.”

Dr. Guzman chose family medicine because he likes to treat the whole family.

“It gives me a better understanding of why a person has an ailment,” he says.

Dr. Guzman is fluent in English and Spanish, speaks some Italian and understands Portuguese.

He’s been married for eight years and has two sons, ages 3 and 6. His eldest attends Immanuel Schools in Reedley. In his free time, Dr. Guzman enjoys exploring restaurants, exercising and outdoor activities.

He may be reached at (559) 391-3160.
