SELMA – Baby Ivan of Fowler was the first baby to arrive in 2014 at Adventist Medical Center - Selma. To celebrate his birth, hospital staff gave the family a diaper bag filled with baby items.

Ivan weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces, and was 19 inches long when he was born at 1:34 p.m.  He shared the holiday with another boy, born at 3:17 p.m., and two girls, born at 2:33 p.m. and 6:39 p.m., at the Selma hospital.

Adventist Medical Center – Selma averaged 65 births a month in 2013, down from 100 in 2009.  To address the decline in deliveries and free up space for expansion, Adventist Health is moving obstetrics services from Selma to Adventist Medical Center – Reedley on June 1. The move will merge the hospitals’ excellent labor and delivery nursing teams and provide large, private rooms for expectant mothers.
