Adventist Health’s Aspire Orthopedic Institute Certified as Center of Excellence

Awards & Recognition

Aspire Orthopedic Institute at Adventist Medical Center has been recertified as a joint replacement center of excellence by The Joint Commission.

The Aspire joint replacement program underwent a rigorous onsite survey on November 20, 2014 and was evaluated for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of joint replacement patients.

“Our multidisciplinary team was recognized for their demonstrated commitment to quality, which highlights the excellent care our patients receive. Our program focuses on providing a positive memorable experience for patients and their families,” says Lorissa Addabbo, executive director of orthopedics at Adventist Medical Center. “Collaboration with all members of the care team allows us to present a seamless experience to our patients, in which they are prepared and can have confidence in their outcomes.”

The Joint Commission’s Disease-Specific Care Certification Program, launched in 2002, is designed to evaluate clinical programs across the continuum of care. Voluntary certification addresses requirements in three core areas: compliance with consensus-based national standards; effective use of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines to manage and optimize care; and an organized approach to performance measurement and improvement activities.

“Recertification demonstrates our commitment to the highest level of care for our patients,” says Cindy Nutter, chief nursing executive at Adventist Medical Center. “Completing recertification is a difficult process and I want to commend our teams for their hard work and their ongoing quality of care for our patients and their families.”
