St. Helena Hospital Foundation’s IMAGINE Gala Nets Over $2.4 million

Record-breaking Gala Raises Funds for ICU and Smart Room Technology

ST. HELENA, CA, October 28, 2013 – On October 26th, St. Helena Hospital held their 19th annual Foundation Gala at The Napa Valley Reserve in St. Helena. The event, aptly named IMAGINE,broke all past records, raising $1 million more than its previous record from last year. The Gala netted over $2.4 million for the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit and Smart Room technology.

Over 200 community supporters attended the event to raise their paddles, while also paying tribute to Gala honorees, Anne and Chuck McMinn. A true visionary, Chuck has served on the St. Helena Hospital Foundation Board for almost ten years.

During the dinner, guests enjoyed special musical entertainment by Grammy-Award winning artist, David Pack, who helped bring the crowd to their feet as they danced to the song, “Twist and Shout,” right before the auction commenced. After spirited bidding for Lot 10 – Thirteen 100 Point Wines – the lot sold for $60,000.

The evening concluded with the Fund-a-Need to help support the implementation of the “hospital room of tomorrow” which will dramatically improve the patient and caregiver experience with the use of advanced technology. During the reception, guests perused the interactive Smart Room display and browsed the one-of-a-kind auction lot displays.

“Thanks to the remarkable generosity of the Gala attendees, we will have access to state-of-the-art technology with the hospital room of tomorrow and an improved ICU for our community,” Anne and Chuck McMinn said.

Approximately 800 residents from the community receive critical care in the Intensive Care Unit each year. For more information, please visit www.fundingwonders.org or email shhfoundation@ah.org.
