WWGH Receives Top Honors in Satisfaction Survey

General

Walla Walla General Hospital employees and medical staff rank the hospital among the top 25 percent of hospitals in the nation, according to the results of a survey by Professional Research Consultants, Inc., a national healthcare research company that monitors employee and physician satisfaction.

WWGH received awards for one 5-Star Award and six 4-Star awards based on the responses of employees and physicians for the 2012 surveys. The 5-Star category was for Teamwork Within Departments, and 4-Star award categories include Immediate Supervisor, Overall Empowerment, Senior Leadership, Total Compensation Package, Nursing Care and Laboratory Services.

5-Star designation is given to hospitals that achieve a score in the top 10 percent of the nation, based on the percent of employees or physicians who rate the hospital as “Excellent”. 4-Star awards represent hospitals that score in the top 25 percent nationwide. The survey includes more than 200 hospitals in the United States.

“We are very pleased with the survey results and awards,” says Monty Knittel, president and CEO of WWGH. “This really honors our excellent nurses and staff who work so hard to make this an excellent place to receive care and an outstanding place to work.”

Physician satisfaction research is conducted every year through a series of confidential telephone interviews by PRC. Employees participate in an annual online satisfaction survey. The results and recommendations are then provided to WWGH to help direct strategies for continuously improving quality and physician satisfaction.
