Reiner Appointed President and CEO

The board looked for a leader who will continue to promote Adventist Heath’s distinctive mission to guide its strategic planning and decision-making processes, according to Graham. “Scott has a long history of service as a key member of our senior leadership team at Adventist Health,” stated Graham. “His demonstrated excellence in leadership, forward thinking, clinical experience and dedication to our vision will be assets to his new role as we progress in our mission focus.”

Reiner has spent a significant number of years within Adventist Health. He started his leadership as the CEO of Glendale Adventist Medical Center (GAMC), a 515-bed facility in Southern California. After seven years of service at GAMC, Reiner assumed the role of senior vice president of Adventist Health in 2006. He chaired the boards of nine hospitals and also oversaw business development, innovations and philanthropy from the corporate office. In 2010, Reiner was named the executive vice president and COO, responsible for the day-to-day operations of Adventist Health.  The role included visioning, architecting, implementing and sourcing leaders needed to operationalize Adventist Health’s strategy.

Reiner holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Pacific Union College in Angwin, Calif. and a master’s degree in health administration from California State University, Northridge. Reiner and his wife, Margo, have two children; a son, Christian, and a daughter, Alixandria.
