St. Helena Hospital – Napa Valley Rated Top Hospital in the West

September 19, 2012, St. Helena, CA. NRC Picker, a division of National Research Corporation (NRCI), has awarded St. Helena Hospital—Napa Valley its 2012 Path to Excellence award for “Top performing hospital with 100 to 300 beds.” Patients rated St. Helena Hospital Napa Valley higher than any other of its size in the western United States.

“What is most important to us about this Path to Excellence award,” says Terry Newmyer, CEO of St. Helena Hospital, “is that it is entirely based on our patients’ experience at St. Helena Hospital. This is an achievement for our entire team-every employee throughout the hospital has made a contribution to making us Top in the West.”

Key foundations of this success are the hospital’s active relationship with a generous community, and a unique management philosophy that empowers each employee, from physicians to housekeeping staff, to improve quality and efficiency on an individual level.

National Research Corporation is an international organization dedicated to improving the patient experience, and developed its Path to Patient-Centered Care to provide a clear framework of steps to take for lasting and successful improvement. Path to Excellence award recipients are among a select group of healthcare innovators leading the way on the Path to Patient-Centered Care.
