New Hospitalist Returns to Roots at Walla Walla General Hospital

Albert Rick, MD, joins the medical staff at WWGH

Walla Walla General Hospital welcomes hospitalist Albert J. Rick, MD, to its medical staff. As a hospitalist, Dr. Rick is specially trained to take care of patients admitted to the hospital. He joins three other hospitalists working at WWGH.

Dr. Rick graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Ore. While at OHSU he enjoyed caring for complex patients admitted to the University Hospital as well as serving the homeless youth in downtown Portland.

The move to Walla Walla is really a return to his roots for Dr. Rick. A graduate of Walla Walla Valley Academy and Walla Walla University, he is also the son of longtime pediatrician Calvin J. Rick, MD.

"It is a privilege to return to Walla Walla. I am excited to have the opportunity to give back to the community that has nurtured my development since 1991," says Dr. Rick. "The Walla Walla Valley offers so much to its residents and I am happy to finally return home."

In his free time, Dr. Rick enjoys classical music, commercial aviation, family, and experiencing new cultures through language, food and travel.
