New Talent Joins Pediatrics

A new pediatric physician is joining Ukiah Valley Medical Center’s Rural Health Center effective this month, according to Gwen Matthews, CEO. Shaista Parveen, MD, will become part of the UVRHC Pediatrics Group located at 260 Hospital Drive, Suite 204 Ukiah.

Dr. Parveen is relocating to Ukiah from the Bay area.

After completing her internship and residency at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Dr. Parveen served a clinical appointment as associate professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and worked with satellite clinics around coastal Texas. For the last two years, she has been a relief physician in San Jose, Los Gatos, Sunnyvale, and Fremont.

With licenses in both Texas and California, Dr. Parveen is board certified as a fellow by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

“We are delighted to have Dr. Parveen joining us on a full-time, permanent basis to provide healthcare to children in Mendocino County,” Matthews commented.

In addition to English, Dr. Parveen is fluent in Urdu, Hindi, Medical Spanish, and Punjabi…all which are growing languages in greater Northern California.
