Baron Harper, MD, A Cardiothoracic Surgeon Nominated
Rideout Favorite Physician, 2012

MARYSVILLE, April 2, 2012 – Rideout Health announced its Physician of the Year recipient on Friday, March 30, as part of its 2012 Doctors' Day Celebration.

Baron D. Harper, MD, was named Rideout's "Favorite Physician of the Year" at Rideout Memorial Hospital. Dr. Harper is a member of the cardiothoracic surgical team at the Heart Center at Rideout Memorial Hospital, he has been in practice for 18 years and is Board Certified by The American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and by the American Board of Thoracic Surgeons in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery.

The Rideout Foundation has hosted the Favorite Physician of the Year Contest since 2010. Dr. Harper received more than 60 nominations from physicians and staff.

"Dr. Harper is an outstanding surgeon. He is well loved by our physicians and staff," said Carol Ramirez, VP, Rideout Foundation. "It was an honor to give him this award."

Twenty-seven doctors were also awarded special "Guardian Angel" pins, as part of the Doctors' Day celebration. The following physicians were selected as Guardian Angels by grateful patients:

The Guardian Angel Program gives grateful patients and their loved ones the opportunity to support FRHG while paying tribute to caregivers who made a difference to their patients. Each honored Guardian Angel received a letter informing him or her of the thoughtful gift, and a custom crafted lapel pin to wear proudly.

Other Doctors' Day events, March 30, included providing pastries and goodies in Physician Lounges and a special coupon entitling physicians breakfast, lunch or dinner at the cafeteria at Rideout Memorial Hospital.
