Walla Walla General Hospital’s Golf Benefit Raises Money for Room Renovations

Golfers gathered, games were played and prizes awarded--but the biggest prize was the money raised at Walla Walla General Hospital’s Golf Benefit last weekend.

One hundred twenty-two golfers attended the 2nd Annual Golf Benefit at Wine Valley Golf Club to raise money for the hospital. Net proceeds from the event exceeded $20,000 and will be used in the Enhancing the Healing Environment project for comprehensive patient room renovations.

“We are grateful to our four dozen sponsors and prize/giveaway contributors and the support of the Wine Valley Golf club team and other event volunteers,” says John Cress, executive director of the WWGH Foundation. “They made it a great day for philanthropy and a really fun event for everyone who participated.”

A team of golfers from Kadlec Regional Medical Center won the trophy and prizes for first place gross, while the Coffey Communications, Inc. team received the honors for first place net. Other prizes—including two 3-day/2-night Florida resort vacations and airfare for two—were given away as part of more than $8,000 worth of sponsored prizes and premiums distributed at the event.
