San Joaquin Community Hospital to Hold "Going Green" Community Fair
What: In support of San Joaquin Community Hospital’s (SJCH) new “Going Green” initiative, the hospital will hold a green-based community fair in front of the hospital entrance. In addition to the hospital, many local vendors – including Bike Bakersfield, BARC, Abundant Harvest and San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District – will be on hand to share tips on how to be more “green.”When: Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 9 a.m. – Noon
Where: San Joaquin Community Hospital
Front Entrance
2615 Chester Avenue
Why: In an ever-increasing effort to be more environmentally friendly, SJCH has begun exploring green alternatives to many common business practices. Already, the hospital has implemented recycled paper and relied more upon electronic methods for employee communication. In the coming months, the hospital will be focusing on many large-scale green efforts. This event publicly launches the Going Green initiative, while at the same time providing employees and community members with tips on how they can add a little green to their own lives.
