San Joaquin Community Hospital to Support World Breastfeeding Week

Childbirth What: In support of World Breastfeeding Week 2010, San Joaquin Community Hospital’s (SJCH) lactation team will host an information station throughout the week of Aug. 2-6 in front of the hospital entrance. SJCH Maternity Care Center lactation consultants will share what steps to take for successful breastfeeding. They will also hand out educational material.

When: Monday, Aug. 2, through Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 from 9 a.m. – Noon

Why: To bring public awareness to the important role of breastfeeding for children’s development and lifelong health and the health of mothers. When offered helpful tips to successful breastfeeding, the rate of mothers choosing it over artificial feeding greatly improves. More information on World Breastfeeding Week 2010 can be found at:
