SJCH PRESENTS BETTER COOKING FOR BETTER LIVING
The Wellness Center at SJCH, in conjunction with Kaiser Permanente, Lifescan and KERO ABC 23, present “Better Cooking for Better Living.” This healthy cooking event will include health screenings, lifestyle improvement tips and a cooking demonstration with world-renowned Chef Chris Smith. In conjunction with Chef Chris’ cooking demonstration, guests will be treated to a full-course meal featuring the exact recipe from the Chef’s presentation. September is National Cholesterol Education Month, and this is the perfect chance to get tips from the experts!

SJCH TO OPEN INPATIENT BURN CENTER
One year after opening The Aera Clinic, SJCH’s outpatient Grossman Burn Center, the hospital is excited to announce the opening of the inpatient Grossman Burn Center. Located on the third floor of the hospital, the inpatient burn center is a four-bed unit offering the latest in burn-care technology, including, a hydrotherapy treatment room. In just over a year, the SJCH Grossman Burn Center has filled a huge health care void by caring for nearly 400 patients and their families. Although the inpatient burn center has been operating out of the hospital’s regular ICU, this grand opening will celebrate completion of the permanent location. Tours will be available following the press conference.

SJCH OFFICIALS VISIT HAITI
In January, SJCH and its employees donated more than $70,000 to aid the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in their efforts to help Haiti in the immediate aftermath of the devastating earthquake. In early August, four representatives from SJCH visited Haiti as guests of ADRA for a close-up glimpse at the ongoing efforts to restore the country. SEPTEMBER IS BABY SAFETY MONTH
