Local Shop Partners with WWGH for October Breast Health Promotion

WALLA WALLA, Wash.--A Touch of Class is teaming up with Walla Walla General Hospital to promote breast health awareness during the month of October.

All month the Main Street store will be offering delicate, beautiful glass ornaments--in pink, of course. A portion of the proceeds from the ornaments sold will be donated to the Breast Health Center at WWGH.

The Breast Health Center provides education on cancer prevention as well as education and emotional support for women with benign breast diseases or cancer diagnosis. Resources and support are provided for the patient and her family, to answer questions and address fears during the breast cancer experience. The Breast Health Center serves as a resource for everything from prevention strategies to mammogram screening and treatment options.

"We just really believe knowledge is power," says Michelle Kelly, co-owner of A Touch of Class. "The statistics on breast cancer are staggering and the more information there is the more educated we become on the importance of breast health. The Breast Health Center is a great place to get all that information and we're excited to partner with Walla Walla General Hospital on this."

To schedule a digital mammogram at WWGH's new Medical Pavilion or to speak with a breast health specialist call (509)-527-8273.
