Hurricane Katrina Press Release

Two Howard Memorial Hospital (HMH) nurses are on site at the Astrodome in Houston aiding hurricane Katrina evacuees and other HMH nurses are making plans to go south to continue in the relief effort. “In general, the people we are seeing are in good spirits,” says Trish Swangler, one of the nurses volunteering in Houston. “Of course, we will be coming home with many personal stories of survival.”

On Tuesday, September 6, 2005, the Frank R. Howard Memorial Hospital Governing Board also voted to donate $10,000 to provide aide and relief to the hurricane victims.
