At the AIS Cancer Center, our entire team is committed to providing the best possible cancer services to the patients and families who trust us with their care.
One way we measure quality is by the accreditation and recognition we receive from organizations that set standards for cancer care, using nationally recognized, research-based guidelines and scientific evidence.
Cancer care accreditation
The Adventist Health AIS Cancer Center is the only comprehensive cancer care center in Kern County with the Commission on Cancer (CoC) accreditation for our program’s multidisciplinary approach to treating cancer – that means patients receiving care at our center have access to clinical trials, new treatments, genetic counseling and patient-centered services such as psycho-social support, a patient navigation process and a survivorship care plan to help improve our cancer survivors’ quality of life.
National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). The AIS Cancer Center has earned full accreditation from NAPBC by undergoing a rigorous evaluation process and demonstrating compliance with standards for treating women diagnosed with the full spectrum of breast disease.
American College of Radiology accreditation. This accreditation recognizes the expertise our radiology team delivers to patients every day. The AIS Cancer Center’s radiation technologists are among the best in the nation, providing lifesaving radiation treatments for cancers of the breast, lung and other organs with cutting edge equipment.
A commitment to providing the latest cancer care
We're proud to offer one of the most comprehensive breast cancer treatment centers in the San Joaquin Valley. We’re members of the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers and are working toward certification as a Quality Breast Center of Excellence.
We also follow guidelines from the National Comprehensive Cancer Network that detail how specific cancers should be treated. Our adherence to these guidelines helps us to ensure the care we deliver is truly state-of-the-art.
