St. Helena Hospital Opens Martin-O’Neil Cancer Center

St. Helena hospital has opened a new state-of-the-art cancer center in an effort to offer Napa Valley residents the latest in cancer-fighting care and technologies. The Martin-O’Neil Cancer Center is a 12,500 square-foot facility ilocated on the top level of the hospital’s Johnson Pavilion. Not only does the new center boast cutting-edge cancer treatment options and highly qualified staff and physicians, but the hospital borrowed a page from the hospitality industry, to create a comfortable, positive patient experience.

To that end, the center has an oncology-certified nurse navigator to help coordinate each patient’s treatment plan. Physician offices are literally a few steps away from the center’s lobby and treatment rooms, adding convenience for both patients and physicians. A therapy spa for physical and spiritual healing also is a part of the patient experience along with an on-site boutique, which features cancer-related supplies and products. The cancer center also has established a formal affiliation with the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center, giving local patients access to clinical trials and express referrals to cancer sub-specialists.
