South Coast Medical Center Debuts New Breast Cancer Detection Equipment
South Coast Medical Center installs new breast cancer detection technology in an effort to better serve its patients. The hospital now offers full field digital mammography, which will improve patient comfort, disease detection and deliver 40 percent less radiation. In addition, the facility is one of the first hospitals in California to offer HALO™, a powerful screening test for early detection in the fight against breast cancer. The HALO™ detects early pre-cancerous cell changes within breast ducts—an area of the breast where cancer typically begins.
