Simi Valley Hospital Shines in Environmental Services Safety Audit
Simi Valley Hospital received a score of 100 percent on its Environmental Services Safety Audit from the National Safety Foundation (NSF). This is the third year that the hospital’s Environmental Services department has aced the survey, which is an extremely taxing and thorough review of the department and its safety procedures.
Surveyors arrive unannounced and review staff training records, conduct interviews, check to see that staff are appropriately clad in protective equipment and observe work habits to ensure that safety standards are being met.
With the 100 percent score, the department received gold-level certification—the highest possible certification a department can obtain.
