San Joaquin Community Hospital Opens NICU
San Joaquin Community Hospital has opened a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in partnership with Loma Linda University Medical Center. In a step toward becoming a comprehensive center for newborn care, SJCH opened a nine-bed NICU within the county’s only 5-star rated maternity care center. Although there are currently three NICUs in Kern County, the hospital’s affiliation with LLUMC will elevate its NICU in terms of quality, knowledge and the ability to bring the highest level of neonatal intensive care to the community.
