Rosalio Lopez, M.D., Resigns as VP of Medical Affairs at White Memorial Medical Center

Rosalio Lopez, M.D., has resigned as vice president of Medical Affairs at White Memorial Medical Center, according to Beth Zachary, president and CEO of the Southern California facility. Dr. Lopez will leave the medical center to look for new employment closer to his home in Huntington Beach, California.

“I want to thank Dr. Lopez for his commitment to our hospital and community during the past seven years,” stated Zachary. “He was the first vice president of Medical Affairs at our facility and one of the first in Adventist Health. He has done so much to help define this role locally and for our system as a whole.”

During his tenure, Dr. Lopez worked collaboratively with the hospital’s medical staff to make significant improvements in the hospital’s performance and reporting of clinical outcomes. He provided exceptional leadership for Pharmacy, Risk Management, Infection Control and Care Management. In addition, he worked closely with the corporate office of Adventist Health and community leaders to make meaningful progress in government relations and legislative affairs for the hospital and Adventist Health.

A search for Dr. Lopez’s replacement is currently underway. In the meantime, Lynne Whaley, R.N., senior vice president of Clinical Operations and CNE, will assume responsibility for Pharmacy and Care Management. John Raffoul, senior vice president of Finance, will oversee medical directorship agreements at the hospital, and Risk Management and Infection Control will report to Zachary.
