During its recent Employee Giving Campaign, staff at Adventist Medical Center gave gifts and pledges totaling more than $8,200 to the Co-Pay Scholarship Fund, which helps community residents who need assistance making physician office visit co-pays. In addition, the Wheeler Foundation contributed $10,000 toward the worthy cause.
The Central Valley General Hospital Auxiliary recently made a $20,000 donation to the Adventist Medical Center-Hanford project. The networks new hospital is slated to open in the summer of 2010.
San Joaquin Community Hospital employees raised nearly $100,000 during the hospitals employee giving campaign. The money will go toward a cafeteria renovation as well as other needs throughout the hospital.
Sonora Regional Medical Center recently received two very generous gifts for its Campaign for Aquatic Therapy. Jim Comazzi, M.D. and his wife, Bonnie, pledged $20,000 and the Sonora Area Foundation gave a gift of $30,000.
White Memorial Medical Centers Charitable Foundation secured a $500,000 federal appropriation with the support of Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard, which will be funded through a grant with the Center for Disease Control (CDC). The money will be used to address diabetes in the community. During the past six years, the Congresswoman has secured more than $2.5 million in capital and program funding for the hospital, and has long championed legislation at the federal level to support hospitals and health care services in her district.
