Castle Medical Center’s Mammography Services Goes Digital
Castle Medical Center recently upgraded its mammography services by installing the latest digital mammography technology.
Digital technology provides vastly improved mammograms as well as other advantages over conventional film. The high resolution, digital images make it easier for radiologists to detect subtle differences between normal and abnormal tissue. Because these images are stored on a computer, physicians can log onto a secured network to access and view images remotely from any computer. Other benefits of digital mammography include the elimination of film processing errors which reduce the need to re-take images—lessening patient’s exposure to radiation.
